About Us

We come from farms, and farmhouse families.

As such, we pride ourselves on stocking our store with items we either do have or actually would buy for our own home. We love vintage country furnishings and decor, and we stock our store with items intended to be multi-functional and useful for a variety of decoration, storage, or other practical uses.

Whether you're looking for something for your garden, kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom, bedroom, mudroom, or office, we hope you'll find what you're looking for here. At Anja's Attic our slogan is simple: TLC for your home!

Basics about our business

We're a (very) small online retailer. We are constantly searching for new and interesting products to add to our store, and every item we sell is specifically selected because it represents the style and look which we seek to cultivate.

We're also pragmatic. We've all had negative purchasing experiences online. We don't want you to have those experiences here. We offer a 30-day refund policy. Simple. As long as your item is unused, send it back, and we'll refund your money. We don't feel it needs to be any more complicated than that.

Many (not all) of our products qualify for free shipping. This is something we are not (yet) fully able to control, as many of the products we sell ship directly from the manufacturer. However, wherever possible, we offer free shipping because heck - we love it, too!

Do you have questions? Looking for a product we don't have? Are you a wholesaler or manufacturer with a product which you think would fit our store well? Please feel free to contact us anytime! We are here for you.

About the owners

Anja grew up in a small village in south-western Germany known as Vollmaringen (that's pronounced Foal-mar-ing-en, in case you were wondering!). Although she grew up in a somewhat more contemporary house, the village is small and farmland abounds in the region. Have a look for yourself:

Anja's father, Joachim (pronounced "Joe-ack-him" and sometimes shortened to just Achim, again in case you were wondering) is also an impressively talented gardener, and has spent considerable time working with the garden he has to evolve it into something beautiful. This is a traditional pastime for many Germans. Go on, have a peek at his garden:

In nearby Hochdorf, Anja's sister and her family still live at the farm built by her brother-in-law's parents, where he grew up, and which they are renovating.

Similarly, Chris' family comes from a small town in east Texas known as Mount Pleasant. His parents still own the farmhouse where his grandfather, Thomas Ray, was born, and where his mother grew up. We still cannot get reliable mobile phone reception there!

For us, traditional, stylish, vintage farmhouse decor is simply the best. We're of course influenced heavily by both the American and European (French/German) farming traditions, and we are also possessed of a serious love for wood and industrial design. As you browse our products, we're certain you'll see this reflected in our catalog.

We look forward to being a part of your home decorating and furnishing journey!

Love from the farm,
Chris & Anja
